With the dissolution of the abbey in 1539, its story does not end.
In the centuries that followed, this solid focal point of the town has continuously played host to historical events of local and national importance, as well as adding richly to the social life of the town. This walk brings to life the journey of regeneration through stories which span the nearly 500 years since the last Benedictine monk departed. Ticket includes coffee and a pastry.
