Thank you for visiting the 2013 Bury St Edmunds Festival website. If you are a regular visitor to the festival then you’ll have spotted that it’s shorter than usual but rest assured that the programme is still packed with a wide variety of renowned musicians, films, walks and exhibitions; a great opportunity for you to immerse yourself in an intense burst of arts activity. We are engaging in a great deal of discussion about how the festival should develop in the future; please do let us have your thoughts too by emailing info@buryfestval.co.uk.

Jayson Gillham recital

I am sorry to have to announce that Jayson Gillham has broken his ankle and won't be able to perform at this year's Bury Festival on Saturday 18 May.  However we are extremely grateful to Alexander Karpeyev for stepping in at such short notice to allow the recital go ahead.

Following his training at the Moscow Conservatoire, Alexander Karpeyev arrived in London in 2006. A major prize-winner in many international competitions, he has given recitals at the Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Cadogan Hall and the Barbican and we are looking forward to an exciting programme of music by Bach/Busoni, Brahms, Medtner, Rubinstein and Stravinsky.

If you have already bought tickets for Jayson Gillham's recital then they will remain valid for the recital by Alexander Karpeyev.

Bury Songwriting Competition Final

Please note that the final on Friday 17 May will now take place at the Hunter Club and not at the Unitarian Meeting House as originally advertised.
